TUNAS SAMUDERA
The design and build of Tunas Samudera was jointly funded by the British and Malaysian governments. She was handed over to the Malaysian Navy in 1989 in a joint ceremony by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Majesty Yan Di-Pertuan Agong. The ship is operated as a sail training vessel by the Royal Malaysian Navy, but training voyages are run for civilian youth groups as well as navy cadets.

She is a sister ship to the Australian Navy's Young Endeavour which was built in the same yard two years earlier.
