JDLwas originally built in 1957 in Lorient as a French Motor Fishing Vessel. When her career ended in the mid-1970s, she was sold and rebuilt as a staysail schooner, becoming a successful charter vessel taking scuba divers around the Scottish Western Isles. In 1985 JDL departed for the Caribbean and the following year completed a 3 month spell with Operation Raleigh.

When her career ended in the mid-1970s, she was sold and rebuilt as a staysail schooner, becoming a successful charter vessel taking scuba divers around the Scottish Western Isles. In 1985 JDL departed for the Caribbean and the following year completed a 3 month spell with Operation Raleigh.   JDLwas relaunched in 1995 as a brigantine and became a familiar vessel in The Tall Ships Races. She was purchased in 2014, and has since undergone a complete refurbishment and restoration. Offering a high level of comfort, with 7 well apportioned cabins and spacious lounge and dining area. The interior has been specifically designed to feel welcoming with the existing wood panelling complemented by new upholstery in warm colours reflecting the feel of a traditional ship. This is combined with all of the luxuries that you would expect from a modern vessel including a  comprehensive audio/video facilities as required for corporate events.   As a charter vessel, JDL will spend her summers based around the waters of the Baltic and Scandinavia participating in The Tall Ships Races, followed by a visit to the British Isles.  Her winters will be spent seeking the sun of the Mediterranean and Canary Islands At sea, JDL offers luxury cruises plus sail training trips to people of all ages and abilities. In port,JDL transforms into a unique venue for corporate hospitality. She also provides short pleasure trips and the opportunity for visitors to  come on board and explore.
